MediaCPM/FamilyKen
« on: September 21, 2011, 06:04:17 AM »
I think there may be some old threads about the guy who owns FamilyKen.com using hidden iframes.

I noticed that their PTP is very heavy and was loading things I couldn't 'see' earlier, but I blamed it on the cpm network they were using.  I just checked the Whois for the cpm network (mediacpm.com) and it has the same owner as FamilyKen.com.

This cpm banner is on another site's affiliate pages and it 'looks' fine, but the page is SHOUTING at me at random intervals for no apparent reason.  I delved into the code and suspect the reason is that the hidden banner by the side of the one that shows has some youtube stuff in it, with sound, and that's where this annoying sound is coming from.

This is the banner that the cpm network's code puts onto the affiliate's page
mediacpm.com/show_i.php?a=313&x=TVRNeE5qVTNPVGd3T1MwNE9DNHhNRGd1TVRBM0xqazA=&z=14&c=2&adurl=948099&target=_blank

My browser crashed - most likely due to that banner, so I've now lost the code, but anyone's welcome to look for themselves and instead of one skyscraper you can see there are two, side-by-side, and they don't fit into the space for one skyscraper that they're being put in.

Popunders run in new tabs/windows ... not the same one.  That's where they get their name from, because the pop under the existing tab/window.  What I saw may have been a popunder, but it didn't pop under, it ran hidden in the same window.

And I see from my post that the issue wasn't just a popunder, it was two side-by-side skyscrapers running in the space for one skyscraper.  One skyscraper belongs in one skyscraper-sized iframe, not two  :)

I noticed cpm.biz have been running hidden iframes ... and I noticed you were the one who let everyone know that it was them responsible and not just a bad network that they're running in their banners (though I'm not saying that network was clean, if I recall correctly they were just as bad)
